Clinical Laboratory Technologist
Performs simple and complex laboratory test procedures in the clinical laboratories. Routine laboratory assignment will be within the Transfusion service. Additional rotational assignments will include other clinical laboratory sections and satellite laboratory locations. Routine job responsibilities include specimen acceptance, accessioning, processing, performance of testing and quality control procedures, the use of various laboratory information systems for result generation, reporting, and documentation. Assignment at the Roswell Park satellite locations requires the maintenance of phlebotomy competency.
The applicant must have possession of a full license to practice as a Clinical Laboratory Technologist in the State of New York; or a Bachelor’s degree in Clinical Laboratory Technology or a related health care discipline and eligibility for full licensure as a Clinical Laboratory Technologist in the State of New York. The preferred candidate will have the following: laboratory experience in Transfusion Medicine, Hematology, and Chemistry; phlebotomy experience; and/or other relevant clinical laboratory experience in testing services offered by the Roswell Park laboratory.
