Clinical Laboratory Technologist
The Clinical Laboratory Technologist performs simple and complex laboratory test procedures in the Clinical Laboratories. Routine laboratory testing will be on the evening shift in the Chemistry, Hematology, Microbiology, and Transfusion Service departments. Routine job functions of the Clinical Laboratory Technologist include specimen acceptance, accessioning, processing, performance of testing and quality control procedures, and the use of various laboratory testing systems and information systems for result generation. Other duties include reporting and documentation.
Applicants must have Possession of a full license to practice as a Clinical Laboratory Technologist in the State of New York; or a Bachelor’s degree in Clinical Laboratory Technology or a related health care discipline and eligibility for full licensure as a Clinical Laboratory Technologist in the State of New York. The preferred candidate will have previous clinical laboratory experience in chemistry, hematology, or transfusion service and will have relevant experience to clinical laboratory operations. They will also have excellent customer service skills and the ability to work with a diverse population.
