Description of Duties:
The Clinical Laboratory Technologist performs simple and complex laboratory test procedures in the Clinical laboratories. Routine laboratory testing will be on the overnight shift in the Chemistry, Hematology, Microbiology, and Transfusion Service. Routine job functions include specimen acceptance, accessioning, processing, performance of testing and quality control procedures, and the use of various laboratory testing systems and information systems for result generation, reporting, and documentation.
Applicants must be in possession of a full license to practice as a Clinical Laboratory Technologist in the State of New York; or a Bachelor’s degree in Clinical Laboratory Technology or a related health care discipline and eligibility for full licensure as a Clinical Laboratory Technologist in the State of New York.
The preferred candidate will have previous experience in clinical laboratory experience in Chemistry, Hematology, and Transfusion Service, other relevant experience to clinical laboratory operations, excellent customer service skills, and the ability to work with a diverse population.
