Description of Duties:
The Clinical Laboratory Technician performs simple and complex tests in a clinical laboratory to provide data for use in diagnosis, treatment and prevention of cancer and cancer-related diseases in a timely, accurate and dependable manner. Performs blood product testing and component manufacturing activities within the Donor Center, Transfusion Service, and Stem Cell Processing laboratories. Routine responsibilities will include product data entry, product processing, product conformance test sampling/testing, and product storage and tracking. Performs laboratory quality control, equipment maintenance, and quality assurance activities; maintains laboratory supply inventories and processes requests for supply orders.
Applicants must have a License to practice as a Clinical Laboratory Technician or Clinical Laboratory Technologist in the State of New York or an Associate’s degree in Medical Technology or a related health care discipline and eligibility for licensure as a Clinical Laboratory Technician in the State of New York. The preferred candidate will have customer service experience and experience working in a clinical laboratory setting.
This is a grant-funded position. Compliance with funding requirements such as time and effort reporting, grant deliverables, and contract deliverables is required.
