Description of Duties:
Performs simple and complex tests in a clinical laboratory to provide data for use in diagnosis, treatment and prevention of cancer and cancer-related diseases in a timely, accurate and dependable manner. The primary work assignment will be in the Central Receiving area of the department which manages the receipt, referral, and result generation of testing referred to internal and external laboratories. The secondary responsibility will be the performance of laboratory testing within the Roswell Park clinical laboratory. Routine job functions include specimen acceptance, processing, performance of testing and quality control procedures, and referral and result management of specimens referred to external laboratories for testing.
Applicants must have License to practice as a Clinical Laboratory Technician or Clinical Laboratory Technologist in the State of New York or an Associate’s degree in Medical Technology or a related health care discipline and eligibility for licensure as a Clinical Laboratory Technician in the State of New York. The preferred candidate will have previous clinical laboratory experience and excellent customer service and communication skills.
