Description of Duties:
The Clinical Laboratory Technician performs simple and complex laboratory test procedures in the Bone Marrow laboratory. Routine job responsibilities will include the processing, staining, and microscopic evaluation of peripheral blood, bone marrow aspirates, and other body fluids. Routine job functions include specimen acceptance, accessioning, processing, performance of testing and quality control procedures, the use of various laboratory information systems for result generation, reporting, and documentation. This position will include additional cross-training assignment in another clinical laboratory discipline.
The candidate should possess a License to practice as a Clinical Laboratory Technician or Clinical Laboratory Technologist in the State of New York; or an Associate’s degree in Medical Technology or a related health care discipline and eligibility for licensure as a Clinical Laboratory Technician in the State of New York.
The preferred candidate will have previous experience with morphologic review of peripheral blood, bone marrow, and other fluid types.
