Description of Duties:
The Clinical Dietitian will be responsible for providing nutritional care for both inpatients and outpatients, primarily focused on patients in our outpatient survivorship program. Scope of work includes assessing patients’ nutritional status, providing medical nutrition therapy and designing, implementing and monitoring nutritional care plan. Candidate will also be responsible for developing nutritional educational materials and educating patients, staff and community on nutrition as it relates to wellness, oncology prevention and survivorship.
1. Registered Dietitian with the Commission on Dietetic Registration, the credentialing agency for the Academy of Nutrition and Dietetics.
2. Certified in the State of New York as a Dietitian/Nutritionist.
Education and Experience
Bachelor’s degree in Nutrition/Dietetics or a related field and the equivalent of one year of full-time experience as a nutritional services provider.
The preferred candidate will have strong patient counseling skills, experience with oncology patients, knowledge of current research as it relates to nutritional therapies and practices. The preferred candidate will also have strong communication skills, the ability to multi-task and strong public speaking skills.
