Description of Duties:
The Clinical Center Associate performs clerical support functions in an assigned outpatient center of the Institute, answers routine inquiries, screens calls, assists visitors and patients, and records and transcribes physician orders. The Clinical Center Associate also maintains and coordinates clinic schedules, manages the co-pay collection process, and participates in the team or group work activities in the center. The Clinical Center Associate performs the above duties and responsibilities in a confidential environment requiring direct supervision with limited latitude for utilizing judgment and initiative.
Applicants must have a Medical Office Assistant Associate’s degree; or an Associate’s degree and the equivalent of one year of full-time secretarial experience in a clinical setting requiring the use of medical terminology; or a High School diploma or High School Equivalency Diploma, completion of an RPCI-approved Medical Assistant certificate program and the equivalent of one year of full-time secretarial experience in a clinical setting requiring the use of medical terminology; or a High School diploma or High School Equivalency Diploma and the equivalent of two years of full-time secretarial experience in a clinical setting requiring the use of medical terminology. The preferred candidate will have an Associate's Degree in a related medical field, one year of full-time experience with scheduling systems, including OR and electronic Medical Records systems, and knowledge of oncology terminology. They will also have expert technological skills and good customer service skills.
