Description of Duties:
The Clinical Associate demonstrates knowledge of standards/patient safety goals and skills required to maintain patient safety. The employee demonstrates use of equipment in a safe/appropriate manner and follows directives in posted Memorandum. Assists RN circulator with room preparation and set up, this includes, but is not limited to, room cleaning,gathering supplies from distribution and sterile processing, opening and putting away all supplies, picking upcoming cases, settling rooms with appropriate equipment. Also responsible for cleaning of, but not limited to, operating rooms,hallways, locker rooms, and sub-sterile areas as well as stocking supplies in these areas. The Clinical Associate will consistently promote the provision of quality project planning by effectively communicating with all team members as evidenced by identifying proceduralists' needs to the RN, by equipment/supply priority, by assisting in turnaround activities, by accurately reporting to oncoming shift, by actively listening and responding appropriately to questions,phone calls or written communication, by documenting accurately and by reading and responding to e-mail in a timely manner. The Clinical Associate actively participates in Team Dynamic activities and service enhancement initiatives that result in improved patient care. Abides by the attendance and tardiness policy. Abides by the E-Time Policy. Participates in quarterly Fire Drills for the unit. Follows and maintains procedures for standard precautions, contact and respiratory isolation and other infection control measures. Understands and conforms to HIPAA regulations. Adheres to standard and expectations of RPCI Employee Conduct Policy. Attends/completes mandatory in-services on an annual basis, participates in staff meetings, attends educational and new product in-services and performs all other duties as assigned.
Applicants must have a High School diploma or G.E.D. The preferred candidate will have previous training or experience in a hospital setting, experience in housekeeping and experience in the perioperative setting.
