Description of Duties

Manages, designs, and assumes responsibility for the organization’s clinical ancillary applications(non-EHR), related policies, and the activities of personnel engaged in the provision of such services; coordinates efforts between Information Technology and users of clinical applications; takes responsibility for all aspects of the clinical software in use; provides guidance and assistance in the proper use of this software; selects, installs, and provides training on new and existing clinical applications; establishes and chairs clinical focus groups acting as an advisor or sponsor of clinical projects; works closely with Information Security to ensure applications are kept updated and current; develops and maintains manuals, training and technical documentation for supported applications.


Applicants must possess a Bachelor’s degree in computer science, management information systems, clinical informatics or a related field and the equivalent of three years of full-time experience in Information Technology or a related field; or an Associate’s degree or equivalent and the equivalent of five years of full-time experience in Information Technology or a related field. The preferred candidate will have experience supporting clinical applications in the OR, radiation medicine, pharmacy, dental and other ancillary departments, knowledge and understanding of networking concepts and experience is the creation and maintenance of system diagrams for Infrastructure and Information Security activities. The preferred candidate will have prior managerial experience, experience with integrating health care applications (HL7, FHIR, APIs) and experience working with Vendor supported software. The preferred candidate will also possess the ability to handle multiple concurrent projects with ability to prioritize projects independently, excellent written and verbal communication skills and the strong desire for continuous improvement.
