Roswell Park Cancer Institute offers a comprehensive health insurance program for eligible employees who work a schedule of at least 50%. Enrollment in health insurance coverage is optional and begins following a designated waiting period after hire.
Currently, there are three (3) health insurance plans available to eligible employees. Coverage and costs vary by plan. The Institute pays a portion of the cost for coverage, and the employee’s share of the premium is made via payroll deduction, pre-tax. Individual, family, same sex marriage and domestic partner coverage is available. The use of participating providers with each plan will ensure the maximum benefit.
A young adult coverage option allows unmarried adult children between the ages of twenty-six (26) and twenty-nine (29) to purchase their own health insurance; there is no contribution from the Institute.
Employees have the option to change their health insurance coverage each year during an option-transfer period. Specific information on health insurance plan costs and coverage are provided at the time of offer based on the employee’s designated position. During the annual option-transfer period, eligible employees are also able to exchange vacation time in return for a credit towards the employee share of health insurance.
Eligible employees may also elect to participate in an opt-out program, receiving payment for not taking Roswell Park Cancer Institute Health Insurance.
Benefits-eligible employees of Roswell Park Cancer Institute are eligible for both dental and vision coverage following a designated waiting period after hire. There is no cost to the employee for this coverage. Individual, family, same sex marriage and domestic partner coverage are available. Specific information on dental and vision coverage is provided at the time of offer based on the employee’s designated position.
