The following paid time off and leave benefits are available to employees working a schedule of at least 50% that are in a designated benefit-eligible status. Specific information on these benefits is provided to employees prior to starting employment.
Roswell Park Cancer Institute observes twelve (12) paid holidays per year. Two (2) of these holidays are designated as floating holidays for which employees accrue time off which may be used within one (1) year of being credited.
Roswell Park Cancer Institute has a very generous paid vacation program that allows employees to immediately start accruing paid vacation time every pay period. After six (6) months of service, employees are able to request to begin using accrued vacation time. The Institute rewards employees for length of service by increasing the amount of vacation time that is accrued throughout an employee’s career and awarding bonus time. Part-time employees earn vacation time at a prorated rate.
Employees are credited with personal leave on their first day of employment and on their anniversary date each year thereafter. Employees have the ability to use personal leave within one (1) year of receipt of these accruals. Personal leave is intended to allow employees time for personal business and religious observances and may be used upon commencing employment. Part-time employees earn personal leave at a prorated rate.
Sick leave is intended to protect employees from loss of income due to illness or a death in the family. Employees will immediately start accruing sick leave upon commencing employment. Part-time employees earn sick leave at a prorated rate.
Leaves may also be granted for military reserve training, military duty, Family Sick Leave, jury duty, and Family Medical Leave.
