Description of Duties:
The Technical Support Specialist coordinates projects, assists in the use and support of personal computer installations, implements projects as directed, analyzes, diagnoses and resolves personal computer hardware, operating system, or general application software installation problems. The Technical Support Specialist coordinates internal and external staff and equipment to insure timely and accurate installations and identifies needs and assesses the scope of projects. The Technical Support Specialist is the point of contact for troubleshooting all hardware and/or software related issues within the department, especially fielding calls from PACS and RIS users. The Technical Support Specialist is responsible for moving of hardware from one area to another, installing new hardware, and removing old hardware (i.e. workstations, printers, AW servers, monitors, etc.). The Technical Support Specialist works in conjunction with PACS Administrative Assistant on all new hardware and software installations, as well as assist with fixing QA errors in PACS.
Applicants must possess an Associate's degree in Computer Science, Management Information Systems or a related field including at least one semester of an internship in Information Technology or an Associate's degree in Computer Science, Management Information Systems or a related field and the equivalent of six months of full-time experience in Information Technology hardware/software support in a corporate network environment. The preferred candidate will have experience in a Radiology department with prior experience with Radiology PACS and/or RIS system. The preferred candidate will be a Radiologic Technologist with an Information Technology background.
