Description of Duties:
The Technical Support Specialist, within the Laboratory Systems Information team, coordinates projects, assists in the use and support of computers, printers, digital systems, instrument interfaces, and servers. Implements projects as directed; analyzes, diagnoses and resolves hardware, operating system, or general application software installation problems; coordinates internal and external staff and equipment to ensure timely and accurate installations; identifies needs and assesses scope of projects. Functions as a liason between Roswell Park Help Desk and Department as required.
Applicants must have an Associate's degree in Computer Science, Management Information Systems or a related field including at least one semester of an internship in Information Technology; or an Associate's degree in Computer Science, Management Information Systems or a related field and the equivalent of six months of full-time experience in Information Technology hardware/software support in a corporate network environment. The preferred candidate will have previous information technology support experience, previous experience with Laboratory technology support: instrument interfaces, microscopes, digital imaging, printers; excellent customer service skills, and the ability to work with a diversed population.
