Description of Duties:
The Technical Applications Trainer designs, delivers and maintains highly engaging and educational training content for clinical applications. The Technical Applications Trainer helps manage a comprehensive course catalogue for all new and existing clinical staff as well as participate in the training and organizational change management of system upgrades and new system implementations. Also, works closely with business areas and other department trainers to ensure training needs are being met while also evaluating their effectiveness post implementation.
Applicants must have a Bachelor’s degree and the equivalent of three years of full-time experience in training, training needs analysis, and/or organizational development. The preferred candidate will have three years of experience training and supporting EHR functionally within a clinical setting. The preferred candidate will have experience working with nurses and clinical staff in terms of training needs as they relate to EHR/EMR and other related clinical applications; experience working with Information Technology to provide appropriate hardware/software support and in-system troubleshooting; experience designing, developing, delivering and maintaining highly effective training content using multiple delivery methods including manuals, handouts, guides, walk-throughs and web based. The preferred candidate will be proficient in use of Microsoft Office Suite, including Outlook, Word, Excel, and PowerPoint; will possess excellent communication and interpersonal skills, possess effective planning and problem-solving skills, as well as possess above average computer and technical skills. The preferred candidate will understand the integration of information technology systems and will possess the ability to work effectively in a collaborative, team-oriented environment with diverse groups of professionals. The preferred candidate will possess the ability to adapt to the complex needs of the dynamic organization and the healthcare industry. The preferred candidate should be highly motivated, be able to work independently with minimal supervision, and work on multiple highly complex projects at the same time.
