Description of Duties:
The Technical Applications Trainer is responsible for design, delivery and maintenance of highly engaging and educational training content for all clinical applications. The Technical Applications Trainer will help manage a comprehensive course catalogue for all new and existing employees as well as participate in the training and organizational change management of system upgrades and new system implementations. The Technical Applications Trainer will work with a team to respond to telephone calls and emails in support of end user EHR issues, questions and training support. Conducts regular rounding activities to engage the clinics to identify training gaps and work with department trainers to develop training material and/or course content to address training needs.
Applicants must have a Bachelor’s degree and the equivalent of three years of full-time experience in training, training needs analysis, and/or organizational development.
The preferred candidate will have three or more years of experience training and supporting EHR functionality within a medium to large hospital setting, and experience working with business leads and/or clinical staff to understand training needs as they relate to EHR/EMR and other related clinical applications. The candidate will have designed, developed, delivered and maintained highly effective training content using multiple delivery methods including manuals, handouts, guides, walk-throughs and computer based learning, and helped plan and organize the training of clinical application projects, including but not limited to maintaining and upgrading software. They also would have worked closely with IT to provide appropriate hardware/software support and in-system troubleshooting. They will be highly proficient in the use of Microsoft Office Suite, including Outlook, Word, Excel, and Powerpoint, possess excellent communication and interpersonal skills, possess above average computer and technical skills, and will understand the integration of information technology systems. They will have the ability to work effectively in a collaborative, team-oriented environment with diverse groups of professionals, the ability to flex with ever changing needs of a complex and dynamic organization and healthcare industry, will be motivated and able to work independently with minimal supervision and work on multiple highly complex projects at the same time, and will have effective planning and problem-solving skills.
