The Supervisor, Finance - Financial Reporting Performs tasks that focus on accounting, financial reporting, and financial analysis that encompass the following: oversees the financial statement close process, identifies and researches income statement variances to budget and forecast, and proactively identifying opportunities for improvement, maintains the integrity of the general ledger chart of accounts and the financial reporting systems, as well as the financial consolidation, reviews journal entries and account reconciliations to ensure accuracy and completeness of general ledger, and demonstrates an in-depth understanding of the accounts that subordinate staff are responsible for maintaining. The Supervisor, Finance - Financial Reporting also assists in the proper recognition of unique/non-routine transactions that may occur, researches new accounting pronouncements and evaluates the financial impact on the Center, coordinates with members of the business to communicate any changes and develop procedures to adhere to these changes, assists with the coordination and timely completion of the year-end financial statement audit, oversees the development and maintenance of data collection, analysis, and reporting of financial data and ensure the accuracy and integrity of data and analysis, supervises subordinate staff; sets work priorities, creates work schedules, provides training, conducts performance evaluations, rewards and/or discipline employees, and applies overall analytical skill and experience to become a highly valued business partner who works closely with stakeholders to solve problems as well as challenge the status quo. They review Accounts Receivable model and recommends adjustments and improvements as needed to maintain accuracy and integrity of the model, provides support for CFO including the preparation of board presentations on both a routine and ad hoc basis, develop and enforce policies and standard operating procedures to ensure compliance with all applicable rules, regulations and internal requirements, take leadership role in other projects such as systems implementations, integrations, reorganizations, generate/develop reports that provide clear and relevant information on a variety of areas in the business, and continue to evolve and update existing metrics/reports so that they support the strategies and goals of the organization. The Supervisor, Finance - Financial Reporting also compiles and reviews complex accounting/actuarial estimates including medical malpractice, workers compensation, Other Post- Retirement Health, and Pension. Reviews of such estimates include review of privy information such as payroll data and legal claims matrices, enforces established departmental policies and procedures, objectives, quality assurance programs, safety and compliance standards, enhances professional growth and development by participating in educational programs, distributing and reading current literature, conducting and participating in in-service meetings and workshops, prepares other written documentation as required by the profession and the department, maintains, distributes, analyzes and projects information for required records, reports and statistics as directed, and performs other related duties as assigned or requested.
Applicants must have a Master’s degree in accounting, finance, economics, business administration, information systems or a related field, or CPA and the equivalent of four years of full-time experience in a public accounting or a corporate accounting/financial reporting/analyst role; or a Bachelor’s degree in accounting, finance, economics, business administration, information systems or a related field and the equivalent of six years of full-time experience in a public accounting or corporate accounting/financial reporting/analyst role.
