Description of Duties:
The Supervising Distribution Clerk reports to the Manager of Receiving Distribution and Mail Services and supervises the shipping & receiving staff of approximately five (5) individuals. The incumbent conducts performance evaluations and addresses staffing issues, oversees the daily operations associated with the main receiving dock (located off of Michigan Avenue), and the BLSC dock (located off of Elm Street). The employee ensures that all deliveries of supplies and equipment are received and accounted for prior to delivering to the requesting departments throughout the Institute. The employee maintains supporting documentation, changes medical gas cylinders, tags and records capital equipment, and responds to medical gas alarms.
Applicants must minimally have a High School diploma or High School Equivalency diploma and the equivalent of three years of full-time experience in distribution/shipping/receiving or a related field. The preferred applicant will have an Associate's degree and experience in Shipping and Receiving preferably in a Healthcare setting. The candidate must be highly organized, possess excellent customer service skills, and have the ability to multi-task and prioritize work effectively.
