Description of Duties:
The Smoking Cessation Associate's duties include, but are not limited to, responding to incoming calls, providing motivational interventions, conducting screening for nicotine replacement therapy, and providing resources and materials to smokers who contact out Quitline call center. The Smoking Cessation Associate should demonstrate high level of communication skills, active listening skills, empathy, and should be able to effectively problem solve. They should demonstrate excellent customer service, telephone and computer skills, including Microsoft Office, and be able to navigate database screens. The Smoking Cessation Associate must also be detail-oriented, with the ability to follow through on tasks while working in a fast-paced, team-oriented environment.
Applicants must possess an Associate’s degree in an appropriate field and the equivalent of one year of full-time experience in a call center, customer service and/or healthcare related field or a High School Diploma or G.E.D. and the equivalent of two years of full-time experience a call center, customer service and/or healthcare related field. Applicants must be a current non-smoker. The preferred candidate will have prior call center experience, specifically in cessation services.
This is a grant-funded position. Compliance with funding requirements such as time and effort reporting, grant deliverables, and contract deliverables is required.
