Description of Duties:
The Senior Technical Applications Trainer leads the training efforts in support of internal clinical applications. Meets with business leads and/or clinical staff to complete training needs analysis; designs training plans, develops and delivers training content and courses to ensure training needs are being met; along with responding to and answering EHR support inquiries. Oversees training efforts and content development to ensure the delivery of highly effective and engaging training material, while also providing leadership and guidance to other department trainers and coordinators.
Applicants must have a Bachelor’s degree and the equivalent of five (5) years of full-time experience in training, training needs analysis, and/or organizational development. The preferred candidate will have experience training and supporting EHR functionality within in a large hospital setting; working with business leads and/or clinical staff to understand training needs as they relate to EHR/EMR and other related clinical applications; designing, developing, delivering and maintaining highly effective training content using multiple delivery methods including manuals, handouts, guides, walk-throughs and computer based learning; leading and mentoring other department trainers and training coordinators to ensure knowledge transfer of training content and training efforts; planning and organizing the training aspects of clinical applications projects, including but not limited to maintaining and upgrading software; and working closely with IT to provide appropriate hardware/software support and in-system troubleshooting. The preferred candidate will have proficient use of Microsoft Office Suite, including Outlook, Word, Excel, and Powerpoint; possess excellent communication and interpersonal, and above average computer and technical skills; understanding of integration of information technology systems, ability to work effectively in a collaborative, team-oriented environment with diverse groups of professionals, ability to flex with the ever changing needs of a complex and dynamic organization and healthcare industry and effective planning and problem solving skills. The candidate will be motivated, able to work independently with minimal supervision, and work on multiple highly complex projects at the same time.
