Description of Duties:
The Senior Systems analyst provides leadership and coordination of Pathology and Laboratory Medicine IT teams and project teams, under limited supervision, performs advanced systems analyst activities and makes recommendations in areas that require a high level of technical competency, organizes and executes projects, and participates in vendor evaluation, design, development, implementation and management of multiple projects. The Senior Systems Analyst also provides technical direction and supervision to lower level staff in the development, implementation and maintenance of systems, provides computer systems administration and support, analyzes, creates, documents, tests, maintains, troubleshoots and problem solves, and works directly with IT administration in creating IT standards, quality management practices and defining customer priorities. They also work in the Pathology and Laboratory Medicine setting to confer with users to define complex data processing projects, formulates statements of problems or objectives and designs solutions, and works with functional design of a project interfacing with users, management and technical staff. The Senior systems Analyst conducts special studies and analyses and reporting of data for end-users, management and committees and manages and maintains interfaces between the laboratory information systems (LIS) and other institute applications.
Applicants must have a Bachelor’s degree in computer science, management information systems or a related field and the equivalent of four years of full-time experience in programming or packaged systems implementation and support. The preferred candidate will have previous information management experience in a clinical laboratory setting, familiarity with report and query writing tools (crystal reports, SharePoint, SSRS), and experience providing laboratory information system support. They will also have project management experience, IT team leadership experience, and the ability to provide expert analysis and design solution for laboratory based business unit. they will have excellent customer service, multi-tasking and communication skills.
