Description of Duties:
The Senior Secretary (Clinical) performs complex clerical, administrative and general office duties within the Clinical Cytogenetics Laboratory supporting the clinical, academic, and research activities of the unit. The Senior Secretary (Clinical) will be responsable for laboratory specimen intake, report/record management, supply management and ordering, distributing mail and telephone reception. The Senior Secretary (Clinical) will also function as E-time keeper for multiple laboratory work units and participate in team/group activities.
Applicants must possess a Associate’s degree and the equivalent of one year of full-time secretarial experience in a clinical setting requiring the use of medical terminology; or High School diploma or G.E.D. and the equivalent of two years of full-time secretarial experience in a clinical setting requiring the use of medical terminology.
The preferred candidate will have previous laboratory office management support experience, excellent verbal and written communication skills, the ability to work with a diverse population with a focus on customer service and strong MS Office skill.
