Senior Performance Data Analyst
Health Research, Inc. (HRI) Roswell Park Division is seeking a full-time Senior Performance Data Analyst. The Senior Performance Data Analyst works within the Clinical Pathways team to obtain, analyze and share concordance data on the usage of pathways, pathway usage information and payer quality initiatives for the Roswell Park PC and the Roswell Park Comprehensive Cancer Center. The incumbent abstracts data from the electronic medical record; maintains data in internal databases; audits paper and electronic medical records and processes for compliance with internal initiatives and regulatory standards; provides analyses of clinical and programmatic data; recommends and informs process improvements; participates in research related to clinical pathways; works to understand gaps in knowledge and assists with preparation of grant submissions and research protocols.
The applicant must have a Bachelor’s degree and the equivalent of one year of full-time data analysis or quality assurance experience; or an Associates degree and the equivalent of three years of full-time data analysis or quality assurance experience; or High School diploma or High School Equivalency diploma and the equivalent of five years of full-time data analysis or quality assurance experience. The preferred candidate will have the following: clinical experience in oncology (e.g. RN, Pharmacist); knowledge of basic medical terminologies and cancer treatment related terminologies; experience in quality/performance improvement health data; experience with electronic tools such as Redcap, MS Visio, MS PowerPoint, MS Excel, or comparable programs; experience with audit and chart abstraction procedures; experience with navigating electronic health records; specific experience with navigating OncoEMR and Allscripts; ability to perform data queries, data analysis and reporting; understanding of basic statistics, data analysis, and related tools; experience in developing, conducting and maintaining research protocols; and strong interpersonal skills and ability to appropriately and effectively communicate with stakeholders at all levels of the organization.
This is a grant-funded position. Compliance with funding requirements such as time and effort reporting, grant
deliverables, and contract deliverables is required.
