Description of Duties:
The Senior Facilities Engineer develops effective business relationships with organization facilities staff, stakeholders and vendors to analyze and process facilities infrastructure data and operating characteristics in support of the organization’s mission. The Senior Facilities Engineer develops and implements design, maintenance and purchasing processes, updates and develops/organizes drawings and other technical and computer-based files, and performs HVAC/plumbing or electrical engineering calculations. They also specify and select plant equipment, manage small to mid-size projects, and develop project budgets/estimates. They develop and manage service contracts and construct-to-build projects and review and interpret applicability of various codes and standards.
Applicants must have a Bachelor’s degree in Mechanical Engineering with Engineer-In-Training (EIT) and the equivalent of ten years of full-time professional experience in facilities management; or maintenance or operations and design; or HVAC and plumbing design and specification; or electrical design and specification; and project management. The preferred candidate will have scientific/laboratory design experience, clinical/hospital design experience, or office design experience. They will also have steam and condensate systems experience, chilled and condenser water systems experience, and institutional HVAC equipment and controls systems experience. They will have field experience managing mechanical systems installations and projects, facilities management experience, and commissioning experience.
