Description of Duties:
The Senior Environmental Services Worker supervises, instructs and coordinates housekeeping functions in a designated area, participates in a variety of cleaning-related tasks in order to maintain cleanliness within patient care, post-patient care and all non-patient and public areas, and performs necessary linen services operations. The Senior Environmental Services Worker operates and supervises the operation of various equipment and machinery, diagnoses minor repair needs, and tours and inspects project areas for quality of work performed. They also perform tasks as necessary including removal, packaging and documentation of Municipal Waste, Medical Waste and HIPAA Waste and Recycling in accordance with established standards and regulations and act as working department lead on campus moves, setups, and events often interacting at multiple organizational levels and the public.
Applicants must have a High School diploma or High School Equivalency diploma and the equivalent of one year of full-time experience in housekeeping, environmental services or a related field. The preferred candidate will have the ability to stand on their feet for eight hour shifts or more, will have demonstrated ability to multi-task and maintain work output in the face of shifting priorities, and will have experience in working in unsupervised environments while maintaining communication with their supervisor. They will also have excellent verbal, phone, and written communication, strong customer service skills, and will have excellent time and attendance.
