Description of Duties:
The Research Support Services Assistant performs various administrative duties; takes minutes, maintains records and files, distributes mail; performs telephone reception; welcomes and directs on-site visitors; duplicates and distributes photocopies; routes faxes; maintains files, inputs data, prepares files; follows up on outstanding invoices; performs the above duties and responsibilities requiring direct supervision with limited latitude for independent judgment. The Research Support Assistant performs clerical support functions in the Department of Health Behavior. The Research Support Assistant will coordinate research participant recruitment across multiple human subjects studies within the department. Key duties include answering routine inquiries, screening callers for eligibility according to established protocols, making reminder calls, scheduling participants for laboratory visits, and coordinating other participation needs for research study subjects as needed. They perform the above duties and responsibilities in a confidential environment under the supervision of the PI or their designee.
Applicants must have an Associate’s degree and the equivalent of one year of full-time administrative work experience; or a High School Diploma or High School Equivalency Diploma and the equivalent of three years of full-time administrative work experience.The preferred candidate will have an Associate's degree (or higher), previous research, clerical, or customer service experience, and strong computer skills. They will also have a positive attitude, be a team player, and willing to go above and beyond for participants. The candidate will have good written and verbal communications skills and be familiar with GCP policies for clinical research.
This is a grant-funded position. Compliance with funding requirements such as time and effort reporting, grant deliverables, and contract deliverables is required.
