Description of Duties:
The Purchasing Coordinator will serve as an integral member of the Purchasing department and will report to the Purchasing Manager. The Purchasing Coordinator is responsible for processing purchase orders in accordance to Roswell Park procurement guidelines. Tasks of the Purchasing Coordinator include processing purchase orders for materials, equipment, merchandise and supplies, evaluating GPO and NYS contract options, gathering information and conducting data analysis necessary to make informed purchasing decisions, and negotiating with vendors and suppliers regarding purchase agreement. Other tasks of the Purchasing Coordinator are resolving disputes or questions related to price, deliver or specifications and will communicate regularly with end-users.
Applicants must have a Bachelor’s degree in Business, Supply Chain, Procurement, Finance or a related field; or an Associate’s degree in Business, Supply Chain, Procurement, Finance or a related field and the equivalent of two years of full-time purchasing or contract management experience in a healthcare, business, or corporate environment; or a High School Diploma or High School Equivalency Diploma and the equivalent of four years of full-time purchasing or contract management experience in a healthcare, business or corporate environment. The preferred candidate will have a Bachelor's degree in a business related field, will be proficient in Microsoft Office suite programs, and will have working knowledge of Lawson or comparable MMIS systems. They will also have excellent written and oral communication skills and exceptional customer service skills.
