Public Health Associate
Responds to HIV, STD and Hepatitis C telephone inquiries from persons incarcerated in NYS DOCCS facilities, using various available resources; assembles and sends out mass mailings regarding education and program promotion; assists clients with linkage to resources upon return to the community; assist Program Director with publication development.
The applicant must have an Associate’s degree in an appropriate field and the equivalent of one year of full-time experience in a call center, customer service and/or healthcare related field; or a High School diploma or High School Equivalency diploma and the equivalent of three years of full-time experience in a call center, customer service and/or healthcare related field. The preferred candidate will have knowledge of HIV, STD and Hepatitis risk factors, prevention and treatment and knowledge of Criminal Justice environment. The preferred candidate will have good verbal and written communication skills; bi-lingual communication skills (English/Spanish); and have experience with publication development. They will also be able to work independently and proactively; be able to follow office procedures and confidentiality rules; and be a team worker.
