Patient Access Representative Trainee
This is a trainee position. Incumbents will be engaged in trainee duties that may lead to the full performance level of a Patient Access Representative. The Patient Access Representative Trainee is responsible for patient scheduling, insurance verification, and will obtain authorizations requests from patient medical records, imaging reports and pathology slides. They also triage new patient appointment requests to appropriate disease sites, facilitate appointments with patients, PC practices and affiliates, obtain medical records, imaging and pathology slides for provider review, and coordinate with providers to schedule patients. The Patient Access Representative Trainee utilizes various systems to perform insurance eligibility and creates medical record numbers and utilizes the Central Access System for tracking patients to ensure records are received and appointments are scheduled.
Applicants must have a High School diploma or High School Equivalency Diploma. The preferred candidate will have an Associates Degree and one year experience scheduling patients, performing insurance verification and knowledge of in network and out of network payer rules as well as coordination of benefits. They will also have excellent customer service and communication skills, experience with medical terminology, and the ability to utilize computers and utilize various programs.
