Description of Duties:
The Patient Access Representative Trainee performs a variety of duties at the registration/admissions area. Duties of the Patient Access Representative Trainee include registering new and existing patients, updating demographic and insurance information in appropriate databases to secure patient care and reimbursement is safe and accurate, and creating encounters that are the appropriate level of care for patients as needed based on pre-admit notifications and other services needed. They also process hand carried diagnostic imaging and pathology, direct patients to appropriate locations, work during the evening independently and communicate effectively with nursing supervisors, hospitalists, transfer team and the nurse triage center, offer outstanding customer service, and assist the supervisor and Senior Director of Patient Access as the identify needs.
Applicants must have a High School diploma or G.E.D. The preferred candidate will have an Associate's Degree, physician office and/or hospital registration experience and appointment scheduling, insurance eligibility verification experience, or receptionist/secretarial experience. They will also have excellent time and attendance and outstanding customer service skills.
