Description of Duties:
The Patient Access Representative Trainee obtains prior authorizations for diagnostic radiology and therapy services. The Patient Access Representative Trainee will have telephone contact with insurance companies, clinicians and patients, will use various programs to verify insurance eligibility, will utilize phones and fax to obtain authorizations and enter authorization information into patient management systems, and will obtain referrals for services and work with insurance companies to obtain retro authorizations if needed.
Applicants must have a High School diploma or G.E.D. The preferred candidate will have an Associate's Degree and one year experience obtaining authorizations through insurance companies. If the candidate does not have an associate's degree, they will have at least three years of experience obtaining authorizations through insurance companies. They will also have experience verifying insurance eligibility, with medical terminology, and will have the ability to utilize computer efficiently and use various programs.
