Description of Duties

Assumes responsibility for the effective entry of patients into Roswell Park Comprehensive Cancer Center; coordinates and makes arrangements for all access-related activities including data gathering, triage, communication with referring physicians, scheduling visits and pre-visit diagnostic tests, communicating with disease-site teams and provides insurance and financial clearance for new and return visits.


Applicants must possess a High School Diploma or High School Equivalency Diploma and the equivalent of one year of full-time experience in patient registration, scheduling and insurance verification; or a High School Diploma or High School Equivalency Diploma and successful completion of a Patient Access Representative traineeship at Roswell Park Comprehensive Cancer Center (Roswell Park). The preferred candidate will possess an Associate's degree in a related medical field and one year of full-time experience with Electronic Medical Records systems, expert technological skills and knowledge of oncology terminology. The candidate will treat every person contacted at RPCI with respect, compassion and hospitality and will promote positive morale of all employees, visitors and vendors. The preferred candidate will have experience in a hospital, institute, or medical related field and have training as a Clinical Center Associate or Patient Access Representative.
