Description of Duties

Health Research, Inc. (HRI) Roswell Park Division is seeking a part-time Pastoral Care Provider. The Pastoral Care Provider functions within the interfaith Pastoral Care program and provides clinical pastoral services to Roswell Park inpatients, outpatients, and their families; assesses the need and desire for spiritual care to patients and their families and coordinates the provision of services with medical care and the element of care as provided by the Psychosocial Oncology department; conducts and participates in religious, liturgical and para-liturgical services in Roswell Park’s Interfaith Chapel; serves as a resource for organization staff.  Weekly visitation to inpatients, clinic patients and patients at our Amherst site. Would participate in 7 day 24 hour on call emergency coverage including holidays (memorial Day/Labor Day/4th of July/Thanksgiving/Christmas, etc.) and all days deemed as clinical operational days. On call would also include weekend coverage. On call is scheduled monthly. Would be responsible for appropriate charting in EHR. Also would participate in department programs such as Remembrance Services, trainings and staff meetings.


The applicant must have a Bachelor’s degree in Theological Studies or equivalent and at least one unit of Clinical Pastoral Care Education (CPE).
The preferred candidate will be a board certified chaplain, have experience in palliative and end of life care, experience in a health care setting in an interfaith spiritual care department and have knowledge of various faith traditions.   

This is a grant-funded position.  Compliance with funding requirements such as time and effort reporting, grant deliverables, and contract deliverables is required.
