The Medical Scribe will collaborate with physicians, patients and clinic staff to facilitate patient flow and ensure accurate and complete medical records. He/she will accompany the physician into the patient exam room to document all physician-directed elements of the patient’s visit in the electronic medical record system to include symptoms, medications, physical exam findings, complete assessment and treatment plan. Medical Scribe documentation includes, but is not limited to; new patient notes, pre-visit intake notes, follow-up notes, consents, procedure notes, inpatient notes. He/she will ensure compliance with all medical practices and procedures to maintain confidentiality of sensitive patient information. When requested by a provider, the Medical Scribe will also be responsible for printing and reviewing past clinic notes to ensure everything needed for the next scheduled appointment is accounted for. The Medical Scribe will participate in extracting information from notes, and data collection when requested to participate in various provider driven projects.
The applicant must have an Associates degree in a health related field. The preferred candidate will have their Bachelor's Degree, one year of healthcare experience and will be a pre-med or nursing student. They will also be computer proficient with the ability to learn new programs, able to accurately type 60 WPM, and will have excellent organization and multi-tasking abilities. they will also have the ability to professionally and effectively perform tasks in stressful situations and superior verbal and written communications, and interpersonal skills to ensure outstanding patient care.
