Medical Billing Clerk
The Medical Billing Clerk prepares claims/statements for patients, insurance carriers, State and federal agencies according to billing specifications and in a timely manner. The Medical Billing Clerk prepares and completes inquiries concerning patient accounts to various internal departments, contracts verbally or in writing insurance carriers, State or federal agencies concerning patients’ accounts, and records, maintains, and analyzes reports or data pertinent to the processing or finalization of patients’ accounts. They also perform other billing functions assigned.
Applicants must have a High School Diploma or High School Equivalency Diploma and the equivalent of one year of full-time experience in medical billing and follow-up procedures or a related field; or a High School Diploma or High School Equivalency Diploma and Medical Billing Certification. The preferred candidate will have clerical experience, Windows NT/EMR experience, and will have knowledge of medical terminology. They will also be computer literate in Microsoft Word/Excel, will have detail oriented organizational skills, will be self motivated, and will have excellent verbal and written communication skills.
