Description of Duties:
The Investigational Drug Service Associate provides technical, clerical and regulatory support to the Investigational Drug Service, assists with protocol related audits and monitors visits, assures that all pharmacy paperwork related to clinical trials is complete, and assures that accountability logs for investigational agents dispensed are completely and accurately filled out. The Investigational Drug Service Associate completes sponsor required information and forwards information to sponsor, prepares pharmacy related documents for transfer to CRS for long-term storage of protocol related documents, performs periodic internal audits of documentation in appropriate files to assure easy retrieval, and prepares necessary paperwork for ordering or returns. They also prepare and package drug returns to the sponsor as requested, verify that the drugs shipped match the inventory receipt, assist pharmacists with the preparation of investigational agents, prepare correspondence to protocol sponsors as directed by the IDS pharmacist, and train new IDS associates to assist in day-to-day operations of the investigational drug service needed.
Applicants must have a Certification as a Pharmacy Technician (cPhT) from the Pharmacy Technician Certification Board (PTCB). They must also have a High School Diploma or High School Equivalency Diploma and the equivalent of three years of full-time experience in a hospital pharmacy setting.
