Description of Duties

Manages the day-to-day operations of one or more training program(s) in collaboration with the Program Director(s) and GME Administrator, and is an essential member of the training program team. Requires a comprehensive and detailed understanding of the ACGME accreditation process and manages the program’s compliance with the Affiliation Agreement with the ACGME-recognized Sponsoring Institution. Assists the Program Director in the recruitment process and ensuring the program’s involvement in all activities mandated by the ACGME-recognized Sponsoring Institution (i.e. CLER, QI, PQRS, AIR, and Resident Well-Being Subcommittee). Serves as a liaison between the training program and the GME Office at partnering organizations, attending Training Program Administrator (TPA) meetings of the Sponsoring Institution. Assists in the development and management of the budgeting planning of the Annual Plan and audits the assignments to match the Annual Plan. Provides leadership and direction to trainees to facilitate their professional and personal development.

Qualifications

Applicants must possess an Associates Degree and the equivalent of three years of administrative experience in a Graduate Medical Education (GME), healthcare, or educational environment; or a High School Diploma or High School Equivalency Diploma and the equivalent of four years of administrative experience in a Graduate Medical Education (GME), healthcare, or educational environment. The preferred candidate should have a record of meeting the formal requirements of outside accrediting bodies or inspectors of medical or clinical training programs. The optimal candidate will be highly knowledgeable in ACGME accreditation requirements and have experience as a Program Coordinator for an ACGME-accredited surgical oncology fellowship program,
another ACGME-accredited fellowship in a surgical discipline, or an ACGME-accredited fellowship or residency.  The preferred candidate will also have experience coordinating a fellowship or residency in collaboration with an external university’s GME Office and DIO under which the program’s ACGME accreditation is sponsored.
