Description of Duties:
The Executive Secretary provides administrative support to one or more surgeons to include coordination of their clinical, administrative, education/training, and research activities and will manage the Outlook calendar(s) of physicians. The Executive Secretary supports clinical activities by following-up with patients to assure completion of tests/procedures, securing those results and communicating with patients/families/providers as to appointments/status. They also work across outreach sites to coordinate schedules & patient flow to assure smooth patient experience.
Applicants must have an Associate’s degree and the equivalent of two years of full-time secretarial or related experience; or a High School Diploma or High School Equivalency Diploma and the equivalent of three years of full-time secretarial or related experience. The preferred candidate will have at least one year experience working in administrative support of a physician/other professional and at least one year experience in scheduling of O.R. cases or similar clinical work. They will also have at least one year experience using Microsoft Outlook to manage the calendar of a busy executive and will be proficient in Microsoft Word and Excel. They will have excellent interpersonal communication skills, written communication skills, and verbal communication skills. They will also have the ability to follow-through on tasks to completion, often without prompting/oversight.
