Description of Duties:
The Executive Secretary provides primary, more complex and highly confidential secretarial support functions, demonstrates a working knowledge of the center and methods of operation with full understanding of Institute operations and procedures, and performs more complex administrative, clerical, and general office duties in a scientific research setting. The Executive Secretary also transcribes, types, maintains records and files, distributes mail, welcomes and directs on-site visitors, duplicates and distributes photocopies, routes faxes, and revises work assignments at various subordinate levels to enhance administrative support efforts and meet department objectives. They also participate in team or group work activities in the office, write, submit, maintain, and track grant submissions and/or activities, and performs the above duties and responsibilities in a considerably complex and confidential environment requiring little or no supervision with broad latitude for judgment and initiative.
Applicants must have an Associate’s degree and the equivalent of two years of full-time secretarial or related experience; or a High School diploma or G.E.D. and the equivalent of three years of full-time secretarial or related experience.
This is a grant-funded position. Compliance with funding requirements such as time and effort reporting, grant deliverables, and contract deliverables is required.
