Description of Duties:
The Executive Secretary provides administrative support to one or more surgeons. Tasks of the Executive Secretary will include coordination of their clinical, administrative, education/training and research activities. They will also be responsible for managing the Outlook calendars of physicians.
Applicants must have an Associate’s degree and the equivalent of two years of full-time secretarial or related experience; or a High School diploma or G.E.D. and the equivalent of three years of full-time secretarial or related experience. The preferred candidate will have at least one year of experience in support of an academic physician and/or clinical fellowship program, ideally to include experience with grant and manuscript submissions, at least one year experience using Microsoft Outlook to manage the calendar of a busy executive, and proficiency in Microsoft Word and Excel. They will also have the ability to perform duties with a high level of attention to detail and organization while working independently and at a fast pace, the ability to multi-task when necessary, prioritize work effectively, and communicate clearly (both in a written manner and verbally).
