Description of Duties

The Executive Director, Ambulatory Operations is responsible for making strategic decisions within his or her functional area that will have an impact on the department and/or the Institute; exercises authority for managing operations within his or her functional area; serves as the primary subject matter expert in developing policies and procedures for his or her functional area; responsible for day-to-day operations of areas under his or her supervision; collaborates with other senior leaders to ensure that the department goals are in-line with the Institute goals and mission; performs the following duties, either personally or through subordinate managers.

Qualifications

Applicants must have a Doctoral degree and the equivalent of two years of progressively responsible senior-level experience including eighteen months experience in a supervisory, administrative, consultative, managerial or executive capacity; or a Master’s degree and the equivalent of four years of progressively responsible senior-level experience including eighteen (months experience in a supervisory, administrative, consultative, managerial or executive capacity; or a Bachelor’s degree and the equivalent of six years of progressively responsible senior-level experience including eighteen months experience in a supervisory, administrative, consultative, managerial or executive capacity; or Any combination of education/experience/training that demonstrates the ability of the individual to perform executive-level duties and fulfill the responsibilities of the Executive Director. However, all candidates must have the equivalent of at least eighteen months’ experience in a supervisory, administrative, consultative, managerial or executive capacity; stated in 1, 2, or 3 above. The preferred candidate will have their MBA or MHA with 8-10 years of ambulatory cancer program experience (including infusion center experience) in a hospital based academic institution, experience with process improvement and will be Six Sigma, Green Belt or Black Belt certified. They will also have a demonstrated ability to problem solve and implement business and clinical improvements. They will have excellent oral and written communication and interpersonal skills, planning and organizational skills, strategic and forward thinking and a strong ability to collaborate and foster teamwork.
