Employee & Labor Relations Administrator
Performs employee/labor relations duties at the professional level. Participates in and facilitates the resolution of employee and labor relations issues and gathers related information. Advises, counsels and trains supervisors and managers. Serves as liaison between management and union representatives. Works with managers to address issues of employee misconduct, poor performance, and poor attendance. Administers processes under purview of Employee & Labor Relations Office, including performance evaluation process, probation report process, and unemployment process.
The applicant must have a Bachelor’s Degree and the equivalent of one year of full-time experience in an appropriate Human Resources related field. The preferred candidate will have an advanced degree in a relevant field, such as an MBA, JD, or Master's in Human Resources. In addition, the preferred candidate will have 2 years of full time HR experience in the public sector and/or healthcare environment, administering workplace investigations and employee discipline in a unionized environment; experience interpreting, applying and advising employer(s) on collective bargaining agreements, policies, and applicable employment laws and regulations and/or experience resolving grievances and/or workplace issues. In addition the preferred candidate will have excellent interpersonal relationship skills, critical thinking and excellent written and verbal communication.
