Description of Duties

Manages the patient account services and reimbursement activities at the organization; oversees coding, patient accounting, financial counseling and specialized protocol billing functions at Roswell Park.

Qualifications

The applicant must have a Master’s degree in Business Administration, Accounting or related field and the equivalent of four years of full-time experience in patient accounting or related field including eighteen months in a supervisory, administrative, managerial, consultative, or executive capacity; or a Bachelor’s degree in Business Administration, Accounting or related field and the equivalent of six years of full-time experience in patient accounting or related field including eighteen months in a supervisory, administrative, managerial, consultative, or executive capacity; or an Associate’s degree in Business Administration, Accounting or related field and the equivalent of eight years of full-time experience in patient accounting or related field including eighteen months in a supervisory, administrative, managerial, consultative, or executive capacity; or a High School Diploma or High School Equivalency Diploma and the equivalent of ten years of full-time experience in patient accounting or related field including eighteen months in a supervisory, administrative, managerial, consultative, or executive capacity. The preferred candidate will have a Master’s degree in Business Administration, Accounting or related field and the equivalent of ten years of full-time experience in patient accounting or related field including Five years in a Director level position in Billing/Patient Accounting or Equivalent Role or a Bachelor’s degree in Business Administration, Accounting or related field and the equivalent of twelve years of full-time experience in patient accounting or related field including Seven years in a Director level position in Billing/Patient Accounting or Equivalent Role. The preferred candidate will also have the following: experience and proven leader in Patient Financial Services, including Financial Counseling, Coding, and Patient Accounts; candidate must posses excellent communication skills, be proficient with Microsoft Excel, and have excellent problem solving and management skills to Direct the day to day operations of a high throughput department with roughly 30 staff; candidate must have proven skills with monitoring and reporting patient financial services Key Performance Indicators in dashboard format; candidate will work closely with a multidisciplinary team including Payer Relations, clinical department leadership and core finance to assure revenue integrity and accurate financial reporting; and the candidate must be customer focused and able to adapt to changing priorities and focus.
