Director, Patient Care Services
The Director, Patient Care Services assumes operational and functional responsibility for a group of patient care areas and/or special projects or initiatives. The Director, Patient Care Services provides administrative and strategic leadership for performance management, assists the Senior Vice President and Chief Clinical Operations Officer and/or the Vice President and Chief Nursing Officer in executive-level management of resources and strategic planning to ensure operations are consistent with the mission and philosophy of the organization, and identifies, advocates for, and builds capacity to utilize tools and methodologies required for quality improvement in a clinical setting. They also lead and execute process improvement initiatives to achieve operational efficiencies using Lean Six Sigma methodologies and work collaboratively with Roswell’s executive leaders to integrate quality assurance and risk management activities throughout the organization.
Applicants must have a Master’s degree and the equivalent of four years of full-time experience in a comprehensive cancer center or complex academic/research medical center including one year experience in a supervisory, administrative, consultative, managerial or executive capacity; or a Bachelor’s degree and the equivalent of six years of full-time experience in a comprehensive cancer center or complex academic/research medical center including one year experience in a supervisory, administrative, consultative, managerial or executive capacity. The preferred candidate will have a Bachelor of Science in Nursing degree, an MBA/MHA, and their OCN certification. They will also have a minimum of five years of experience in ambulatory operation management and experience working in an oncology setting. The preferred candidate will demonstrate strategic thinking, will have experience managing performance, such as taking responsibility for one’s own or one’s employees’ performance by setting clear goals and expectations, tracking progress against the goals, ensuring feedback, and addressing performance problems and issues promptly, and will foster teamwork by having the ability and desire to work cooperatively with others on a team. They will also have the ability to establish focus and have the ability to develop and communicate goals in support of the organization’s mission, will have strong forward thinking skills, such as anticipating the implications and consequences of situations and taking appropriate action to be prepared for possible contingencies, and will have strong analytical thinking skills by approaching a problem by using a logical, systematic, sequential approach.
