Health Research, Inc. (HRI) Roswell Park Division is seeking a full-time Data Analyst. The Data Analyst merges/constructs databases, derives variables, and performs advanced statistical analyses, such as generalized estimating equation (GEE) analyses, using complex population-based epidemiological data sources including the Population Assessment of Tobacco and Health (PATH) Study and the International Tobacco Control Four Country Smoking and Vaping Survey (ITC Project). The Data Analyst creates and maintains syntax files, generates and interprets results, identifies missing data issues and proposes solutions, and drafts methods and results sections for manuscripts. The Data Analyst works independently as well as collaboratively with investigators to support efforts to obtain peer-reviewed funding and to contribute to the scientific evidence base that will inform tobacco regulatory decisions for the betterment of public health.
The applicant must have a Bachelor’s degree and the equivalent of three years of full-time experience in data management, custom software applications and data analysis. The preferred candidate will have the following experience: performing secondary data analyses using large-scale databases, including longitudinal analyses; experience using weights to adjust for complex study design characteristics; and will use Stata and/or SAS software with ease.
This is a grant-funded position. Compliance with funding requirements such as time and effort reporting, grant deliverables, and contract deliverables is required.
