Description of Duties:
The Clinical Support Assistant will perform clerical support functions in the Gynecology Center which include answer routine inquiries, handle phone calls, schedule patient appointments, OR procedures and ancillary testing, and maintain and coordinate clinic schedules. The Clinical Support Assistant will also enter data into the EMR, greet and check in patients, verify insurance information, manage co-pay collection, transcribe physician orders, participate in team or group work activities in the center, maintain and order supplies, and drop off, pick up and distribute mail. The Clinical Support Assistant will work closely with the GYN faculty to fulfill the needs of a busy clinical area while performing duties in a professional and friendly demeanor.
Applicants must possess a Medical Office Assistant Associate’s degree; or an Associate's degree and the equivalent of one year of full-time secretarial experience in a clinical setting requiring the use of medical terminology; or High School Diploma or G.E.D. and completion of a RPCI approved Medical Assistant certificate program and the equivalent of one year of full-time secretarial experience in a clinical setting requiring the use of medical terminology; or a High School Diploma or G.E.D. and the equivalent of two years of full-time secretarial experience in a clinical setting requiring the use of medical terminology.
The preferred candidate will have an Associate's degree in a related medical field, one year of full-time experience with scheduling systems, including OR and EMR systems, expert technological skills and knowledge of oncology terminology.
