Description of Duties:
The Clinical Department Administrator I assumes responsibility for the day to day administration of all departmental activities and practice operations for the Medicine Subspecialties in the Department of Internal Medicine. Medicine Subspecialties include: Gastroenterology, Pulmonary, Endocrine, Clinical Prevention/Undiagnosed Clinic, Benign Hematology, Infectious Diseases, and Clinical Genetics. The incumbent will manage, direct, and oversee the clinical and departmental operations; organize, administer, coordinate, and control the activities and programs of the various subdivisions of the department in conjunction and collaboration with the Department Chair and Senior Management.
Applicants must possess a Master’s degree and the equivalent of three years of full-time experience in business or healthcare administration including eighteen months experience in a supervisory, administrative, consultative, managerial or executive capacity or a Bachelor’s degree and the equivalent of five years of full-time experience in business or healthcare administration including eighteen months experience in a supervisory, administrative, consultative, managerial or executive capacity. The preferred candidate will have an MBA with at least three years of Healthcare Management experience. The preferred candidate will have prior experience in clinical department administration, strategic planning, a strong business acumen, financial management skills, excellent communication and interpersonal skills, and the ability to adapt to change.
