Description of Duties:
The Clinical Center Associate Performs clerical support functions in EKG/Cardiology. The Clinical Center associate answers routine inquiries, screens calls, assists visitors and patients, records and transcribes physician orders, maintains and coordinates clinic and procedure schedules, participates in the team or group work activities in the EKG, and performs the above duties and responsibilities in a confidential environment requiring direct supervision with limited latitude for utilizing judgment and initiative. The Clinical Center Associate has frequent communication inside and outside of the department with other departments, divisions or groups, patients, vendor and sales representatives. They also perform other related duties as assigned or requested, inclusive of scheduling EKG procedures and organizing the daily procedure schedule, while taking direction from a multidisciplinary group.
Applicants must have a Medical Office Assistant Associate’s degree; or an Associate’s degree and the equivalent of one year of full-time secretarial experience in a clinical setting requiring the use of medical terminology; or a High School diploma or High School Equivalency Diploma, completion of an RPCI-approved Medical Assistant certificate program and the equivalent of one year of full-time secretarial experience in a clinical setting requiring the use of medical terminology; or a High School diploma or High School Equivalency Diploma and the equivalent of two years of full-time secretarial experience in a clinical setting requiring the use of medical terminology. The preferred candidate will possess working knowledge of the department and understand the Institute's operations and procedures, will have good typing abilities, will have the ability to operate general office equipment, and will possess some word processing and spreadsheet capabilities. They will also have knowledge of medical terminology, the ability to solve practical problems and deal with a variety of concrete variables in situations where only standardization generally exists, and will have the ability to interpret a variety of instructions furnished and written, oral, or scheduled format. They will also maintain confidentiality.
