Description of Duties:
The Clinical Center Associate performs clerical support functions in an assigned outpatient section of the Institute which is in a confidential environment with direct supervision. The Clinical Center Associate will book OR cases as required, screen calls and answer routine inquiries and assist visitors. The Clinical Center Associate will also record and transcribe physician orders and maintain and coordinate clinic schedules.
Applicants must possess a Medical Office Assistant Associate’s degree; or an Associate’s degree and the equivalent of one year of full-time secretarial experience in a clinical setting requiring the use of medical terminology; or a High School diploma or G.E.D., completion of an RPCI-approved Medical Assistant certificate program and the equivalent of one year of full-time secretarial experience in a clinical setting requiring the use of medical terminology; or a High School diploma or G.E.D. and the equivalent of two years of full-time secretarial experience in a clinical setting requiring the use of medical terminology.
The preferred candidate will have at least one year of full-time experience in an outpatient oncology setting, previous experience with Electronic Medical Records (EMR) and scheduling software. The preferred candidate will also have experience with MS Office, and have excellent customer service skills, strong organizational skills, excellent verbal and written communication skills and a satisfactory time and attendance record.
