Description of Duties:
The Clinical Center Associate performs clerical support functions in a professional and friendly demeanor within the Ambulatory Centers which will include answering routine inquiries, scheduling patient appointments and ancillary testing. The Clinical Center Associate will maintain and coordinate clinic schedules, manage co-pay collection process and enter data into the EMR. The Clinical Center Associate will also greet and assist patients and visitors, check in patients, verify insurance information, act as a receptionist and handle phone calls and transcribe physician orders. The Clinical Center Associate will participate in team or group work activities in the clinics, order supplies, and pick up, drop off and distribute mail.
Applicants must possess a Medical Office Assistant Associate’s degree; or an Associate’s degree and the equivalent of one year of full-time secretarial experience in a clinical setting requiring the use of medical terminology; or a High School diploma or G.E.D., completion of an RPCI-approved Medical Assistant certificate program and the equivalent of one year of full-time secretarial experience in a clinical setting requiring the use of medical terminology; or a High School diploma or G.E.D. and the equivalent of two years of full-time secretarial experience in a clinical setting requiring the use of medical terminology.
The preferred candidate will have an Associate's degree in a related medical field and at least one year of full-time experience with scheduling systems, including OR and Electronic Medical Record (EMR) systems. The preferred candidate will also have expert technological skills including MS Office and possess knowledge of oncology terminology.
